A stellar evening of solo jazz standards with virtuoso fingerstyle guitarist Martin Taylor
Multi-award-winning fingerstyle jazz guitarist Martin Taylor MBE returns to Hong Kong with a solo presentation of timeless jazz standards, breathtaking musicianship and rich harmonies – plus storytelling that transports the audience from smoky jazz clubs to concert halls around the world.
One of the true greats of our time, Taylor is renowned internationally for his dazzling technique, intuitive sense of melody, unique interpretations and warm, engaging stage presence.
In the brand-new solo performance – part of the “Standards” tour celebrating Taylor’s 70th birthday – Taylor evokes the golden age of jazz with fresh arrangements of classic tunes from the Great American Songbook. The evening also features a special guest appearance from Hong Kong jazz legend Eugene Pao, who joins Taylor for a curated selection of collaborative pieces showcasing their unique musical synergy, last seen on stage in Hong Kong in 2017.
Throughout his stellar six-decade career, Taylor has won critical acclaim for his work as a solo performer, composer, musical innovator and educator, as well as for his hugely successful collaborations with Stéphane Grappelli, Tommy Emmanuel, Chet Atkins and many of the world’s greatest jazz musicians. In early 2026, Taylor was honoured with the UK’s prestigious Julian Bream Award from the Worshipful Company of Musicians, cementing his status as a leading voice in the classical guitar world.
